Inboard Axle Seal Install - Jeep
If you’ve ever had to replace the axle seals in a Jeep Cherokee, you know how difficult it can be to install the new ones. There’s not enough room to align a seal driver and when you try to tap the seal in without one, you just end up chasing it around in circles. Either way, you don’t have sufficient room to really swing your hammer enough to drive the seals in anyway.
I did a set the other day and the picture shows what I came up with:
- A piece of all-thread
- 2 nuts
- 2 washers - sized a little larger than the outer circumference of the seal
